New safety measures were also put in place to protect consumers. 

Oakland County created a Business Stabilization Fund to provide Oakland County small businesses with grants. Executive David Coulter and the Oakland County Board of Commissioners quadrupled help for small business impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. The Oakland County Small Business Stabilization Grant program awarded an additional $11.7 million to Small Businesses in Oakland County. The list of all businesses in Oakland County who have recieved the grants are listed here.

Oakland County created a Business Stabilization Fund to provide Oakland County small businesses with grants up to $10,000 and loans from $50,000 to $200,000. The application process is now open. 

The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency is now asking 1099, Self Employed and Gig Workers to wait a few days to file for unemployment benefits. The flyer below will give an explanation about the expansions to the unemployment insurance program and instructions on applying.
